Living in Menlo Oaks
Menlo Oaks is an unincorporated enclave in east Menlo Park, bounded roughly by Ringwood Avenue, Bay Road, Berkeley Avenue and Coleman Avenue. It was once part of Ravenswood, the first town in San Mateo County, founded in 1852 by Isaiah Churchill Woods Jr., whose 2,000 acres included all of today's Menlo Oaks. Today it's known for oversized lots and a rural feel, with no sidewalks, few streetlights and narrow streets under a thick canopy of mature oaks. It's one of the area's higher-priced markets, with a 12-month median around $5.06M, and 2026 sales so far have averaged about 112% of asking.
Parking & walkability: Homes have long driveways and off-street parking on their large lots, and the narrow streets have limited room for street parking. It's a quiet, driving-oriented neighborhood, but downtown Menlo Park, Middlefield Road's shops and Highway 101 are all just a few minutes away.

Borders are built lot by lot from the county's property lines and where homes have been listed (MLS neighborhood codes), and stay inside official city limits (dashed), so a home or two along an edge may differ from official MLS lines.
