Living in Horgan Ranch
Horgan Ranch is the Redwood City neighborhood closest to Atherton, including the unincorporated Sequoia Tract. For decades it was flower country: growers drawn by five-acre lots built nurseries and greenhouses and formed the Chrysanthemum Growers Association in 1937, and the chrysanthemum era lasted into the 1950s, until the land was sold to developers. Today it's mostly 1950s ranches and 1960s two-story homes, plus larger new homes near Atherton and some condos and townhomes. It's one of Redwood City's busiest markets, with 82 single-family sales and a median around $2.31M over the last 12 months.
Parking & walkability: Most homes have a driveway and a garage, and the mostly flat residential streets are generally easy to park on. Shopping along El Camino Real and Woodside Road is close by, and downtown Redwood City and Menlo Park are each a short drive. Highway 101 and 280 are both easy to reach.
