Belmont Country Club takes its name from a short-lived 1920s plan to turn this part of Belmont into a Hillsborough-style enclave: developers built the Belle Monti clubhouse (today the Congregational Church on Alameda de las Pulgas), but the venture went bankrupt in 1930, and most building didn't happen until long after the club disappeared. Its streets, some named for Belmont pioneers like Sharon, Cipriani and Pullman, are among the steepest and most winding in the city, with orderly blocks of 1950s and '60s homes and 1960s–'70s houses closer to the Alameda, plus a smaller number of condos and townhomes. It's one of Belmont's busiest markets, with 47 single-family sales and a median around $2.35M over the last 12 months, and homes sold in a median of 8 days at about 107% of asking in 2025.
