Living in Fairmont
Fairmont is one of the coastal communities that joined together to form Pacifica when the city incorporated in 1957, set in the hills of north Pacifica near Skyline Boulevard. It was built mostly by developer Henry Doelger, the builder behind Daly City's Westlake, and it's known for some of the best ocean views in the city. It's mostly mid-century single-family homes, plus a smaller number of condos and townhomes. The 12-month median is around $1.29M with 28 sales, and 2026 sales so far have averaged about 112% of asking.
Parking & walkability: Most homes have a garage and a short driveway, and street parking is generally manageable on the residential blocks. It's a hilly, driving-oriented neighborhood, but everyday shopping is close by in north Pacifica and nearby Daly City, and Highway 1 and Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) make it one of the quickest parts of Pacifica for getting to San Francisco.
