The South Coast covers the small, unincorporated communities south of Half Moon Bay: Pescadero near the coast, and La Honda and Loma Mar in the redwood-covered Santa Cruz Mountains. It's the most rural part of San Mateo County.
What the South Coast is like
Pescadero is a small farming town a couple of miles inland from Pescadero State Beach, surrounded by farms and ranches. La Honda sits along Highway 84 among the redwoods, and Loma Mar is a tiny community near Pescadero Creek. Homes range from cabins and cottages to ranch properties, often on large, wooded or rolling lots, and sales are few, so every property is different.
