Skyfarm, one of Hillsborough's largest neighborhoods, lies in the wooded western hills between the Burlingame Country Club and the Crystal Springs Golf Course. It takes its name from the Skyfarm estate, an Italian-style mansion designed in 1931 by San Francisco architect Arthur Brown Jr. on 103 acres of Crocker family land. The surrounding hills weren't subdivided until the 1970s, so outside a few pre-war homes, most houses here date from the 1970s on. About 10 homes a year sell here, with a 12-month median around $6M. Prices have risen more slowly than in much of Hillsborough, about 19% from 2015–16 to 2024–25 versus the town's 34%, and some 2026 sales have taken longer, with a median of about 3 months on market.
Parking & walkability: Homes have driveways and multi-car garages, and Hillsborough has no sidewalks; the winding hillside roads make this a driving neighborhood. Highway 280 is close by, and downtown Burlingame and San Mateo are each a short drive.
