The Meadows, or Millbrae Meadows, is a single development of about 700 homes built between 1955 and 1964 by the Stoneson Brothers, prominent Bay Area builders of the postwar era. Its land has an unusual history: millions of cubic yards of hillside soil were dug out of what was known as the “Macco Pit” here and hauled away as fill for San Francisco International Airport, and the pit was later sold to the Stonesons. Homes are mid-century designs of 1,300 to 2,000 square feet, many since expanded, and the Millbrae Meadows Swimming Club dates to 1960. It had 22 sales in 2025 at a median around $2.11M, selling for about 108% of asking.
